Interactive Flat Panel Quotation: Get an Accurate Quote

You send a request for quote to three suppliers and get back three numbers that have nothing in common. One quotes a bare board, another bundles freight and customs, the third leaves the touch technology out entirely. You cannot compare them, so you end up comparing the total price — and total price is the one thing a quotation should never be reduced to. This is what an interactive flat panel quotation actually is, what should be in it, and how to ask so the number comes back accurate the first time.

We quote displays every day, so we have seen every version of the vague RFQ. The fix is almost always the same: put the right information in the request.

Why Most Quotations Come Back Wrong

The number one reason a quotation misses the mark is not a lazy supplier. It is an incomplete RFQ. If you ask for "a price on an interactive flat panel," the supplier has to guess — and a supplier guessing will quote the cheapest stock board they have, because that is the number most likely to win the reply. When the real requirement turns out to be an 86-inch panel with an OPS slot and CE and FCC certification, that first number was never going to hold.

An accurate quote starts with a complete spec. Get the spec right first — size, touch, system, ports, certifications — and the quote becomes a real comparison instead of a lottery.

What an RFQ Must Include

A clean RFQ answers the questions the factory will otherwise have to ask. Start with quantity and sizes — how many panels, and which of the 65", 75", 86", 98", 105" or 110" sizes. Then touch and system: infrared 40-point is standard, and note whether you need Android only or an OPS slot for Windows 11 Pro. Then the details that move the price: which certifications (CE, FCC, RoHS), what ports and wireless, whether you need OEM branding, and your target delivery window.

Leave out your market and the factory may quote a configuration that does not clear your local regulations. Include it and they can flag it before it becomes a surprise. If MOQ is a concern, ask for the tiered pricing up front — it changes the per-unit number more than anything else on the page.

How to Compare Quotes Fairly

When the quotes come back, do not read the bottom line first. Read the scope. Three quotes are only comparable if they price the same panel: same size, same touch, same system, same certifications, same packaging. If one quote is 20% lower, the first question is what it left out, not whether it is a better deal.

Compare these items side by side: the spec actually quoted, the lead time, the warranty terms, which certifications are included, the MOQ tier, and what is in the price versus what lands on top later — freight, customs, certification testing. A quote that bundles everything is not automatically better, but you should know what you are comparing before you compare it.

Red Flags in a Quotation

Some quotations are cheap because they are incomplete, and a few are cheap because the supplier is hiding something. Watch for these. A quotation that does not list the touch technology or panel supplier is asking you to fill in the gap with optimism. A lead time that is blank or "to be confirmed" is a shipment that will slip. A warranty described in one vague sentence instead of a written term is a claims process that does not exist. And a price that is dramatically below every other quote for the same spec is usually not a bargain — it is a different product wearing the same name.

Getting a Factory-Direct Quotation

This is the part we can speak to directly. Lonton has manufactured displays since 2005, and our quotations are built the way a buyer should want them built: the spec is stated, the one-time costs are separated from the per-unit cost, the MOQ tier is explicit, and the lead time is written down, not promised in a call. We run 15 production lines with a monthly capacity north of 10,400 units, and we build on genuine LG LCD panels, so the number we quote is the number we can ship.

Factory configured display ready for shipment

If you are still narrowing down the spec, start with our guide to choosing the right panel, and check how MOQ tiers shape the price before you ask. Once the quote is in your hand, a factory vet is the last step before you commit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What information do I need to get an accurate quotation?
Size, quantity, touch and system requirements, certifications, whether you need OEM branding, and your delivery window. The more of these you include, the closer the first quote will be to the final price.

Why do quotations for the same panel differ so much?
Usually because they price different scopes. One may exclude certifications or freight, another may quote a lower-tier panel. Compare the spec, not just the bottom line.

Does MOQ change the per-unit price?
Yes, and often more than any other factor. Ask for tiered pricing so you can see how the unit cost moves with your quantity.

What should be broken out in a quotation?
The per-unit cost, the one-time setup fees (tooling, branding, certification testing), and the lead time. If those are not separated, ask for them to be.

How fast can Lonton turn around a quotation?
With a complete spec, typically within one business day. A full OEM/ODM build may take a little longer because it needs design review.
